About Dr. Kelvie Culpepper
I’m Dr. Kelvie Culpepper, and for more than 25 years I practiced human chiropractic care. So how did that journey lead me to working with animals?
Animals have always been a part of my life. Our family has owned horses, cows, and just about everything in between. After an injury prompted me to step back from full-time practice, I suddenly found myself with more time—and that’s when Zayda entered my life.
Zayda is a Belgian Malinois imported from a kennel in the Netherlands. I was familiar with the breed through my son’s Malinois–German Shepherd mix and years spent attending training sessions and working alongside him. Still, Zayda was something else entirely—driven, intense, and full of energy. I remember calling the kennel owner and asking, “What have I done?” He calmly replied, “If you can’t handle her, I’ll take her back and send you a calmer one.”
That moment sparked a determination in me. I was committed to giving Zayda the training she deserved—and to proving to myself that I could not only handle her, but help her reach her full potential. As it turned out, one of us needed a job.
Zayda is now trained in human remains detection and has certified three times. Watching her work with such focus and dedication—often with zero regard for her own physical limits—made something very clear to me. I understood chiropractic care and the profound impact it has on the human body. I knew those same benefits could support animals like Zayda, helping them perform, recover, and live healthier lives.
That realization is what led me to bring chiropractic care to animals—combining my decades of experience with a lifelong passion for animal health, movement, and well-being.
